Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health

The department explores the basic demographics, family health, and reproductive health issues within communities in Ghana and beyond.

The department focuses on understanding the health problems faced by women, the causes of maternal morbidity and mortality, and discussing the status of women’s and men’s general reproductive health.

Students in the department take courses across a broad range of reproductive, family, and population health issues, including maternal and child health, women’s health throughout the life course, family planning, men’s reproductive health, health disparities, and reproductive health equity.

Our degree programmes combine scientific and technological approaches to understand factors determining the well-being of populations worldwide. We combine rigorous academic training and research with public health programmes.
